The San Giuseppe homestead, an old stone farmhouse in the Fattoria Mantellassi estate, gives its name to the Morellino di Scansano D.O.C.G. selection. Fattoria Mantellassi has managed to give a very precise soul to this wine conquering the taste buds of all lovers of Sangiovese. A great alternative if you want to taste a grape variety that expresses aromas coming from a classic area like Scansano.

After the vintage of January, the year’s best lots of Morellino are selected and aged in small French oak barrels for about six months. Then, after 2-3 months of bottle aging this wine boasts excellent organoleptic qualities: a superior smooth and balanced vinous bouquet, and a pleasant fresh taste.

Morellino di Scansansano has always been a very interesting appellation for wines, due to its different Sangiovese nature. This version of Morellino sees a precise refinement in the bottle after aging for 6 months in small French oak barrels. It is very pleasant to drink and can age further 3-4 years in a cellar.
