This selection of Sagrantino offers the opportunity to taste a fairly unique product.

This grape usually takes years to dampen its soul of tannins, adding a gentler taste coming from years of refinement. Thus, it’s an easy wine to appreciate, but without losing its humble “Umbrian” spirit.

An intense expression of a very unique Italian grape variety. Usually, Sagrantino grapes require aging for a long time before we can appreciate its real identity being a very tannic grape variety. The longer ageing process of this wine donates not only complexity but a smoother taste in the mouth.

Tip: Pour the wine in the Decanter at room temperature so the Sagrantino grapes can relax its tannin nature. I also suggest to pour a bit of wine in the glass to appreciate the evolution of the wine itself.

Tasting

The colour is intense ruby red. The nose immediately reveals complexity and full maturity. Pomegranate, red plums and blood orange nuances alternate with baked plums, blackberry, strawberries, blueberries and traces of aromatic herbs. Followed by spices marked by black pepper, cloves, the carob, with mineral notes of flint and goudron. The entry in the mouth is majestic, full and balanced by a powerful but velvety tannin, which does not cover but enhances the acidity and the whole structure. It closes with an almost infinite persistence, faithfully reproducing the aromas found on the nose.
