Tasting

On the nose, it stands out for its elegant bond among notes of red fruit, black pepper, cinnamon, tobacco and distinctive aromas of liquorice, released after its refinement in both French and American oak for at least for 6 months. On the palate, its balance leaves a long and persistent balsamic finish.

Food pairing

Ideal with red meat, gravy and aged cheese.

Primitivo di Manduria now is extremely well known for its powerful fruity profile and the rich structure on the palate. I do personally love this wine because there is an addition of acidity and complexity that helps this wine to be harmonious without being boring. It is a wine that definitely lends itself to a “meditation moment” (in the wine world meditation refers to a moment we enjoy a glass of wine on its own, without food).

This intense red wine has purple hints, an enchanting taste and aromas reminiscent of red fruit jam. An elegant wine that keeps its territory characteristics intact.

Food pairing

It perfectly matches with red meat, game and aged cheese. But it’s a great meditation wine too.

I really like this wine for its harmony both on the nose and on the palate. It is also a wine that easily goes well with different dishes of Italian culture and its lands. A fairly simple wine that does not require many rules for consumption and yet, it manages to grant great satisfaction every single time.

Fantastic wine with a bit of age. Great structure and the development of tertiary aromas add more complexity to this wine. Apollonio Copertino blend is a clear expression of the potential age-ability of this grape variety.
