Tasting

Ruby red tending to garnet with ageing. Intense bouquet of small red fruit, herbs  and red flowers. Persistent tannins and well structured. The same floral notes perceived on the nose are prevalent in the mouth, with further notes of ripe cherry.

Food pairing

Perfect with red meat and charcuterie.

 

I have compared those two wines and I could really see the differences between two vintages of the same wine. The 2004 Barbaresco shows a great potential, with good alcohol level, right acidity, and deep colour. While the 2006 shows very complex bouquets, vibrant acidity, and adequate alcohol.

Tasting

Deep garnet red, acquiring the orange nuances which are typical of Nebbiolo on ageing. It has an intense, expansive bouquet and a dry, full-bodied taste with a tannic entry that develops with a nice, long structure.

Food pairing

Perfect with red meat and medium-mature cheeses.

Great vintage and wine-making style. The colour is day-bright with lighter hue. Complexity aromas on the nose of red fruits and dry herbs. The palate has earthy elements with elevated acidity and tannins.

Rich ruby red with garnet hints. Pronounced bouquet of dark fruit and cherry as well as savoury aromas of leather and spice that adds one more layer of complexity to an already enticing wine. You will feel a thick, luscious and wonderfully subtle flavour in your mouth.

Food pairing

Perfect with very structured dishes, such as beef, game, mushrooms and truffles.

A classy red wine from Montepulciano with a lovely colour and perfume of flowers, red and blue berries. The palate is soft and gentle, yet, it has a great complexity. The further age added to this wine increases its length and aromas. A fantastic wine!
