Amarone is one of the most classic styles of red wine in Italy. Each producer of Amarone differs in the area of origin of the grapes, styles, drying time, blend of grapes and much more.

This particular wine is produced in the boroughs of Negrar, Marano di Valpolicella, Sant’Ambrogio, Fumane, San Pietro in Cariano (the historic area of Valpolicella Classico production). Rondinella and Negrara grapes dry on racks of the Corvina, until mid January. They then age in large oak barrels and barriques with a long period resting in bottles so we can enjoy each sip of this special wine.

Suitable with red meat, game and also as a dinner closing wine. Perfect wine for the lovers of full-bodied red wines with a great complexity and structure.

This wine is typically full in body with a very nice concentrated fruity profile. I like the easy approach and well-balanced acidity. The blend used by Cesari in this Amarone is a classic, but at the same time, has its peculiar winemaker signature.

Tips: Due to the complexity of this wine, I recommend opening the wine about 30 minutes before consumption and serving it in a large wine glass. The service temperature is very important because it will help to give a more crunchy, fresh profile to the wine.

Tasting

Typical aromas of ripe fruit, fruit preserve and cherry are immediately perceived on first olfactory examination. Particularly striking is the incredible long length that lin- gers on the palate, when the wine displays all its strength through a warm an ele- gant body.

Food pairing

It is an excellent partner to red meat, boiled meat, flavoursome risottos and hard cheeses.
