Tips by the Italian Sommelier

Specs

Region: Veneto
Vintage: 2015
Closure: Cork
Bottle Volume: 750 ml
Blended Info: Corvina, Corvinone, Negrara e Rossignola
Serving Temperature: 17°C.
Type of Glasses: Large red wine glass
Decanting: Yes, at least 30 minutes before
Time of opening: 30 minutes before.
Tips: Due to the complexity of this wine, I recommend opening the wine about 30 minutes before consumption and serving it in a large wine glass. The service temperature is very important because it will help to give a more crunchy, fresh profile to the wine.

Tasting

Typical aromas of ripe fruit, fruit preserve and cherry are immediately perceived on first olfactory examination. Particularly striking is the incredible long length that lin- gers on the palate, when the wine displays all its strength through a warm an ele- gant body.

Food pairing

It is an excellent partner to red meat, boiled meat, flavoursome risottos and hard cheeses.

One of Italy’s most famous and prestigious wines. In Tuscany, its homeland, it ranks alongside Chianti Classico and it seems to command even greater attention in international markets. A wine that is ready to be appreciated for its elegance and complex facets.

Serving Temperature: 18°C. Below this temperature, the aromas will be restrained.
Type of Glasses: Large red wine glass
Decanting: Yes. For 1 hour
Time of opening: 1 hour before drinking
Tips: This wine requires a bit of attention when putting in the decanter as it may have some sediment in it. We recommend gently pouring the wine into the decanter and leave the sediment inside the bottle. (Perhaps you could use it to cook a nice risotto later!)

Tasting

Deep ruby red colour, with a bouquet of black cherries and red berries. Good complexity, with balanced notes of vanilla and tobacco. Good tannic structure and bright acidity provide balance.

Food pairing

Ideal when paired with roasted red meats, stews, roast game and aged cheeses.

Another great wine that has marked my career from the beginning. A historical label. This wine sees a drying of about 120 days and then continues to evolve for 6 years in barrels of 60 hl and another 12 in the bottle. If time brings wisdom, this is certainly a great lesson in patience that brings nothing but prestige.

Bottle Volume: 750 ml
Blended Info: Corvina Veronese Rondinella
Serving Temperature: 18°C.
Type of Glasses: Large red wine glass
Decanting: Yes
Time of opening: 1.5 hour before
Tips: Leave the wine for 1.5 hour in the decanter and pay attention to its evolution. This wine can be stored for another 7-10 years if stored away from any type of direct light, heat or sudden changes of temperatures. Ideally in a cool and slightly humid environment with air flow to prevent the development of mould.

Tasting

Firstly there are the typical notes of plum, cherry and morello cherry on the nose, followed by a great variety of tones: nuts, tea leaves, liquorice and spices. On the palate there are hints of red berry fruits, softened by plush vanilla notes, in perfect harmony with the acidity and tannins. Intense red colour, with garnet nuances.

Food pairing

It can be matched with red meat, game, mature cheeses, but it is also perfect as a “meditation wine” at the end of a meal.

A great wine that persistently stands over the years. An international vitingo that constantly manages to express all the power and pleasures of Tuscany hills. A label to have in the cellar and to drink with great appreciation.

Intense and balanced ruby red, soft and elegant.

Roasted meats, braise, seasoned cheeses.

The Taurasi area is fascinating due to its Aglianico grape cultivation. In this selection of wine, we find all classic hints of the grape of which it is made but also of the territory. A good wine to discover the pleasures of the south of Italy.
