Perfect pairing with Chinese duck pancakes, medium-hard cheeses and vegetarian dishes.

Nice expression of the classic blend Sangiovese e Canaiolo that shows a little bit of age in a nice and warm vintage. I like the ruby colour and classic perfumes of wild berries, violets and spices. Definitely the “menzione” Riserva adds prestige and structure to this wine.

Tasting

Vinification takes place after delicate crushing of the grapes. The must macerates on the skins for 1-2 weeks in order to favour the extraction of color and other polyphonic substances. Light ruby-red with garnet reflections. Fine, with scents of cherries, wild berry fruits, violets and spicy hints. Dry and fresh, with good body and agreeable tannins.

Food pairing

Nice matching with Cinghiale ragù (boar) or with a Bistecca Fiorentina and a nice Pizza.

What a great alternative to the classic Sangiovese from Tuscany hills! When I lived in Maremma, it was a time in my career when I could taste excellent wines from new places. This one was awe-inspiring for its juicy body and high acidity that mixes well with more delicate combinations.

This wine goes well with pasta, structured fishes and cheeses.

Morellino di Scansansano has always been a very interesting appellation for wines, due to its different Sangiovese nature. This version of Morellino sees a precise refinement in the bottle after aging for 6 months in small French oak barrels. It is very pleasant to drink and can age further 3-4 years in a cellar.

Great vintage and a very special wine. Expresses great purity of red fruits in aroma. The palate is fine and elegant and I really appreciate its ability to match with many traditional Italian dishes such as lasagna and red pasta or ragout.

A structured and powerful wine made to suit the elegance and peculiar savoury notes of its territory. The Umbrian Sangiovese of Lungarotti is unique and special, a real gem to keep in the cellar and to be discovered by the lovers of the great Sangiovese grape variety.

Tasting

A red with a balanced body and a fine ruby colour. Its aromas are typically spicy and consist of pepper and sweet tobacco; the background notes hint at red-fruit jam and violet. A pleasant drinkability with good concentration, mature and harmonious tannins with a long-lasting fruity finish.

Food pairing

Strangozzi pasta with red onion and cheek bacon, BBQ with spicy sauce, T-bone steak, beef fillet with balsamic condiment and extra virgin olive oil, roast beef with roast potatoes, stewed eel, eggplant caponata, rotisserie chicken, slightly aged cheeses (pecorino, Parmigiano), traditional Lasagne alla Bolognese. Thanks to its moderate body it is also excellent for preparing sauces.
